With my newfound hobby this year, it has indeed been a very fulfilling one. I’ve lost a lot (i.e. money) but had gained more than I’ve lost. With the figures now displayed on my shelves, it feels as if my once greyscale toned room has burst into colors and is always full of life. I not only got to enjoy animanga more than I used to, I’ve also gathered up a good amount of effort to make sure I get things done such as overcoming my laziness to make reviews, constantly trying to think up of new ideas for my reviews, cracking my brain for the best display option, occasional trips of outdoor photography, or even cleaning up my room more frequently in order to make sure my figures are in a properly cared for environment. The best part is, I found my best cure for feelings of sadness, anxiety, or anger. I feel most at ease and very much happy when enclosed in a space with my figures; they provide tranquility, because I naturally become more gentle and careful when around them.
I’ve also met several new people through this hobby who are all really wonderful. I got to share things I never had a chance to before to them and learnt many new things from them as well. They actually made my collecting journey a whole lot more enjoyable. If you have a MFC account, feel free to add me up on mine if you haven’t already and keep in touch!
The most important person of all though, is my brother because he is the one who gave me an opportunity to continue this hobby in a steady pace this one whole year. As mentioned, I started this hobby while in high school as an unemployed student so I pretty much couldn’t afford many things that are as expensive as figures. However, even with little interest in figure collecting, my brother agreed to support me financially for this hobby and that I’ll slowly pay him back afterwards. Best part? It came with no interest, so I’m absolutely thankful to him. Now graduated with a job, I’ve cleared all my debts and can support this hobby myself. If you have the time, you should check out my brother’s blog at Your One-Stop Idling Centre. It’s not figure related, but he does post some entertaining topics from time to time and you may just possibly find it a good read.
Of course, I wouldn’t end this without some planning for the future! After seeing and buying so many figures, I’ve found what I really want to focus on next year. I’ll be collecting from mainly Gintama, Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, HUNTERxHUNTER, and Yosuga no Sora (which means you can expect more reviews from them). With my wants all narrowed down, I’ll definitely succeed in cutting down the budget I spend in this hobby.
And my next grail? Banpresto Ichiban Kuji’s HUNTERxHUNTER Killua.
So, cheers to my first year of figure collecting! I’m sure there will be many more fruitful years to come for me in this hobby! Thank you for taking your time to browse and, as always, I hope to see you again! Have a pleasant day!

Haha, thanks! Toro and Kuro are indeed great candidates for some fun shot because of their facial expressions! Oh, I feel my Bakuman collection’s rather small actually.

Before even going to my 2013 wishlist, I already have a lot of pre-orders scheduled for release next year, haha. I do have a couple of Gintama and HUNTERxHUNTER figures on my wishlist for 2013! But what I really look forward most to now is 2013’s Snow Miku! She’s looking really beautiful in all those photos on MFC! Are you planning to get her as well?

I actually got the doll for ¥10200 instead of the retail price because Hobby Search had a discount! Can’t deny that it’s still expensive though, but I’m getting my next salary soon so it’s alright, hehe.
I doubt there’ll be nendoroids of the characters from HxH (Chibi-Arts might more likely to pick them up though), but if there really are, they’re be so adorable! I’ll definitely get my hands on them no matter what the cost! (*´Д`*)
Oh! I love Miku but I keep thinking of Rin wearing the Yukata instead (which I have seen, in MFC, and she looked so cute) because I just like Rin so much more, haha. Either way, your VOCALOID collection is slowly growing into a really nice one!

uumm i don't know too, maybe GSC don't get the licence..?
yes, if become nendoroid, i'm sure it will cute plus i love to change their face with the other characters
*laugh* me too
how much i love miku but still all my attention for kagamine rin and len
about yukata, yah.. i'm really want GSC make nendoroid yukata rin or kimono rin. She will look cute with her ribbon too

According to Hobby Search, they are currently preparing to ship her–I’m so excited!
It can’t be help that the price is so high because she’s so much larger than the regular ones! She really is very pretty, too. Dollfies’ prices though, are so much more terrifying, haha.
Oh, yeah, I read something in the community regarding the license as well, but it was referring to One Piece instead. Even if it’s not about the license though, I find HxH’s characters just doesn’t seem to belong in GSC, you know? GSC seems to go for the more popular or cutesy kind of characters.
When your Kagamine collection grows more in the future, I bet it’ll look fantastic if you have everything placed together, including the albums!

wow that’s a good news
btw how shipping a doll like that to your country…?
since our country really near each other i guess the shipping price won’t be so much different ^^!
really….? i don’t really notice that..
ah yah mostly GSC only made cute characters or popular anime series =x=!
geezz i wonder if gsc want make masaki mei nendo…?
yah, i think so too…
well if i can collect most of them, i bet my room will full of yellow XD
will try my best~
it’s strange how my personality can change cause stuck with my favorite character ^^!
p.s : oh yah remember about snow miku 2013…?
if compare snow miku 2013 with sakura miku which one better…? I may hunting 1 miku again ^^
Rei

I still haven’t been notified of the shipping cost yet but when I do, I’ll tell you about it!
There’s a Chibi-Arts of Mei already in the works though! She very much resembles a nendoroid. To me, it seems unlikely that GSC will make one for her when there’s already a Chibi-Arts, but we’ll never know!
I would personally choose Snow Miku 2013. Sakura Miku’s really cute and pretty but Snow Miku 2013 feels a lot more unique. In default, she doesn’t look like the typical Miku, which is great, but there’s also the option with her twintails, which is even better! Another thing is that Snow Miku 2013’s outfit is quite general, so other nendoroids (for example, Rin, hehe) can look good in it too. The only thing would be that Snow Miku 2013’s definitely going to be much more expensive than Sakura Miku, so you might have to consider on that.

okay :D
i will wait your info…
i saw from mfc about chibi arts mei
this one right..?
http://myfigurecollection.net/item/129301
don’t know why i don’t feel satisfied with chibi arts ( i’m more like nendoroid fans ^^!). Hope GSC will make her soon
thanks for the advice ^^
i’m really confused between sakura miku and snow miku 2013
as your said sakura miku really cute plus her expression GSC offered really nice too * sadly i’m not a fans of pink color so it just look strange =x=*
and snow miku…i have no word for her, she is unique and beautiful too.
I will try hunting snow miku 2013 if the price less than $90 with shipping.
I hope this time GSC won’t make a mess for this miku….

Yup, it’s that. Me too. I have one Chibi-Arts and it doesn’t tempt me to get another. I think it’s the big gap between the size of their heads and their bodies that makes them feel so fragile, unlike nendoroids, where their bodies are much chubbier to fit their big heads so the quality of theirs feel better.
Perhaps the pink GSC used for Sakura Miku is a bit too bright and striking that makes the whole Miku look… strange?
I believe Snow Miku 2012’s incident was just an unfortunate mishap. They should be more careful now. I can’t wait to see which Miku you’ll end up getting!

January 3, 2013 at 1:37 PM
yah i looked chibi-arts can’t count as chibi * it not cute at all*
maybe the prefect chibi size is nendoroid. the face and body really match and count as cute X3
if much brightness i think yes…?
well i’m really curious with sakura miku without photoshop editing or too much lightning effect
i hope too, last year GSC made so many mess product and less quality control
really hope it change in 2013 >x<
i think i will stick with snow miku 2013, the kimono and hair just too beautiful
need prepare on feb *i bet many fans will be do the same ^^*

Hey! I received Hobby Search’s mail just yesterday. The shipping cost for the Nyaruko Pureneemo doll along with a Megahouse Hisoka GEM Series (http://myfigurecollection.net/item/109881) is 2,400 yen.

wow she cost less than racing miku pvc ^^
hhmm so her weight around 2kg…?
Rei
January 13, 2013 at 9:19 PM
Oh, no. She’s not that heavy at all since she’s quite small actually. I guess around the weight of two to three nendoroids piled up, maybe?

Thanks! If you’re talking about the Bakuman nendoroids, then yeah, glad I have them all! But the whole collection’s far from complete. Do you ever plan to get the other Bakuman nendoroids beside Miho?

I just remembered we had a similar conversation like this back in my Takagi nendoroid review, haha. It’s really unfortunate that their prices are still so high after so long; I’d really love to see some photographs of them by you.

December 28, 2012 at 7:06 PM
Haha. Will wait for a resale I guess. I’m sure it will take a while or maybe not anymore.. -_-
I really love to take some pictures of them with Miho. I think it’d be cool :)
